Gardening: Fall Irises, thanks Kim

Okay, it is fall, right.

But I have this iris and she comes out in the spring like a normal iris.

But then she comes out in the fall. She has been in bloom over 5 weeks, including during a frost.

The trees only have half there leaves but she is in her glory. The last one left at the dance.

She is pretty, though.

  1. She just has to remind you that she's pretty. Maybe she's reminding you that spring will come again. Nature is awesome!!

  2. Is that an iris? It almost looks like it. - but Lord knows I'm no botanist - but enjoy it while it's here. Hey, chalk up another reason to love living in the SOUTH, right?!? :)

  7. Okay, really? There is such a thing as a fall iris? I have iris in my yard, but they're usually my early bloomers....interesting.

I wonder if I bring some of my iris to TN (WHENEVER THE HECK I GET THERE) if they'd bloom in the fall?.....Or are they a special variety? Now you got me thinking!

And by the way, you're a nice idiot! :)

    Hugs!
