  1. Do you teach any classes? I live in Knoxville, I own my own bakery and I'm expecting 2 twin boys in late May. I was raised by my father so that should explain why I'm contacting you regarding classes :) I'm 29 years old and would love to embrace motherhood with more home based skills. Im particularly interested in learning to sew, gardening, entertaining, table setting, etc. Please let me know if this opportunity exists. Thank you!

  3. Hello!

I am interested in learning some basic skills of sewing, gardening, etc. I am a new mom and at the moment I am staying home with my 4 month old daughter. I am really interested in learning to make clothes for her and myself. I bought a sewing machine at a yard sale, but I have no idea how to use it! I would greatly appreciate your help!

    Thank you,

    Darla

  5. Hallo!

Do you teach sewing? I've been wanting to learn how to sew for a long time. However, being a working, university student, I can never attend (schedule conflicts) or afford classes offered by sewing shops. I would even appreciate it if you maybe knew someone you could direct me too :)

    Thanks,
    Naomi

P.S.- I found your blog on a google search. You've done an excellent job with it!

  7. Do you teach sewing? I'm a female in my 20's, and I've wanted to learn how to sew for a long time. However, I'm a working, university student, and I have never been able to attend (schedule conflicts) or afford classes offered at sewing shops. I would even appreciate it if you could direct me to someone who does teach :)

    Thanks,

P.S.- I found your blog on a google search. It's nicely done!

  8. I was wondering the same thing as Naomi. Do you still offer sewing classes? It is something I am interested in learning how to do, but the classes other places seem so expensive. Thanks so much!

  9. Hi, I found your blog by watching Fox 43 this morning. I can s-o-o relate to you. I have been going to yard sales and thrift stores for years. I love re-using and re-purposing the things I find into my home decor. I also like to re-paint and restyle furniture with paint. Trash to treasure...I love it! I really enjoyed watching your presentation this morning and have added you to my Google reader of other bloggers who love to re-use. I also followed you on Pinterest, which has become another of my obsessions!

  11. Cynthia, I have been looking for "Beginning" Cooking Classes in Knoxville (West - Loudon Cty area) for several years. My husband has heart failure (he's much older) and I need to figure out how to make "tasty" things without salt. Sigh. I just need to learn how to make tasty things period. I have been unable to find classes--do you teach? How can I get in touch with you? revkimisley@gmail.com

  13. Hi Cynthia,

I work with the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta and wanted to run two ideas by you that I thought could be interesting for An Accomplished Woman, as many of your readers in Mississippi may be making the trip to Atlanta to watch Ole Miss take on Boise State in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on August 28.

I wanted to see if you would be interested in tickets to the World of Coca-Cola to offer as a giveaway to readers traveling to Atlanta for the game. I have four tickets available to visit the attraction, so one of your readers could take friends or family along. If you’re interested, please let me know and I’d be happy to discuss the details. I also could provide tickets for you or someone else at An Accomplished Woman to visit if you’re ever traveling to Atlanta. Maybe your daughter is traveling to the game and would be interested in World of Coca-Cola tickets?

Also, there are a lot of big events going on in Atlanta that weekend – specifically for the Kickoff Game, and otherwise – and I thought your readers might be interested in a list of the family-friendly things going on if they’re in town for the game. I included below our list of the top 6 things to do in the city that weekend. Please let me know your thoughts when you have a moment, and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks so much!

6 Things to Do in Atlanta for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game

    1) Fan Days at the World of Coca-Cola are August 26 through September 2. Buy your tickets here and receive $3 off general admission to get a glimpse inside the world’s #1 brand and see what the fizz is all about.
    2) As a football fan, how could you not visit the new College Football Hall of Fame? The attraction is going all out for its Grand Opening on August 23. Celebrate the rich history of the game and make memories of your own with historic and contemporary artifacts, interactive multimedia displays, children’s activities and more.
    3) For some free fun, grab your fellow fans and hit up Tailgate Town on the West Plaza. How can you resist food sampling, games, giveaways and a BBQ cook-off?
    4) If you want to take your tailgating up a notch, purchase tickets for the Ole Miss-Boise State MVP Tailgate at the Georgia World Congress Center. Yes, that’s an air-conditioned tailgate featuring pregame entertainment and a delicious buffet.
    5) Refresh yourself with an ice-cold drink and cheer on your favorite team at its Pep Rally when you visit the FanZone presented by Coca-Cola Zero. Don’t miss out on the dozens of interactive games and sponsor attractions.
    6) While walking down the Atlanta streets, it’s likely that you’ll find yourself in the middle of a science-fiction scene. That’s because Dragon Con is returning to Atlanta this Labor Day weekend. For some fantastical fun – and lots of Storm Troopers – check out the annual parade.
